Nancy Ellen Jensen, age 82, of Stanton, formerly of Chicago, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2018 at her home under the loving care of her family and Spectrum Health Hospice.  The daughter of John Ross & Helen Cornelia (Schulte) Durnell, she was born on June 3, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois. 

On May 7, 1960, in Chicago, she married Richard Gary Jensen and together they raised four children and enjoyed 58 years of marriage.  Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, crocheting and especially, time with family.  Nancy took great pleasure in preparing special dishes  for holiday meals and made Christmas a time of joy and wonder.

Surviving are her husband, Richard G. Jensen of Stanton;  their children, Michelle Jensen-Hower & Russell Hower of Jenison, James Jensen of Las Vegas, Nevada, Krista Jensen & Stewart Carpenter of Greenville, and Keith & Heather Jensen of Cedar Springs;  eight grandchildren, Jeremy & Carla Hower of Norton Shores, Chelsea Hower of Chicago, Illinois, Mitchell Hower & Ashley Ramirez of Holland, Sadie Carpenter of Portland Oregon, Sophie & Taha Ghannam of Portland,Oregon, Lena Jensen of Chicago, Illinois, Emily Jensen of Chicago, Illinois, Margaret Jensen of Greenville; great grandchildren; Hayden, Christian, and Sidney Hower of Norton Shores, Trenton Hower of Jenison; and one great granddaughter on the way;  two brothers, John Durnell & Loretta Masterson of Oak Lawn, Illinois, and William & Gladys Durnell of Citrus Springs, Florida;  and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation with the family is from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, November 16th and 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, November 17th at Christiansen Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.  Honoring Nancy's wishes, cremation has taken place and burial will take place privately at North Sidney Cemetery.
