Mitchell Myron Pinckney, age 63, of Greenville, passed away late Wednesday evening, August 27, 2014 at Metron of Greenville.
The son of Harold & Rhea (Inman) Pinckney, he was born on February 2, 1951 in Grand Rapids. A veteran of the Vietnam War, Mitchell served in the United States Army and had worked in the tannery at Wolverine World Wide in Rockford for over 35 years.
On September 23, 1988, in White Cloud, he married the former Patricia (Krieg) Velting and together they enjoyed almost 26 years of marriage.
Surviving are his wife, Pat Pinckney of Greenville; two step-daughters, Tricia Welch of Greenville and Mary & Brian Magoon of Newaygo; five step-grandchildren, Andi & Josh Bowman, Chris Pelton, Vikki Pelton, Malanie Magoon, and Macil Magoon; and a step-great granddaughter, Lilly Bowman.
Also surviving are a daughter, Robin & Al Key of Germany; four grandchildren; five brothers and sisters; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial gathering from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at the Oakfield Township Hall.
Honoring Mitchells wishes, cremation has taken place and final interment will be in Fort Custer National Cemetery near Battle Creek.
