Michael J. Gleason, age 68, of Gowen, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.
The son of Glenn & Rosalie (Smith) Gleason, he was born on October 26, 1946 in Ionia and was a 1964 graduate of Belding High School.
On June 17, 1967, at Green Corners Baptist Church, he married Carol A. Brock and together they enjoyed 47 years of marriage. Mike retired from the former Electrolux Home Products, enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as reading, and was an avid history buff.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his parents-in-law, Mark & Hazel Brock; and his sons, David Allen Gleason on November 13, 2009, and Patrick Michael Gleason on July 7, 2013.
Surviving are his wife, Carol Gleason of Gowen; a brother, Gary & Suzanne Gleason; a sister, Tammy Tompkins, all of Belding; siblings-in-law, Floyd & Lois Colvin, Cathy Freeman, and Shirley Brock & Tom Bean, all of Sault Sainte Marie; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family is from 12-1 p.m. on Friday at Greenville Community Church, 6596 S. Vining Road, Greenville, where memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rev. Jason Dillingham, associate pastor of Greenville Community Church, will officiate and a luncheon will follow the cememony.
Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. Envelopes for memorial contributions to either the American Cancer Society or the Flat River Community Library will be available at the church.

I will always remember the nite Mike, Jim Wood and I went to GR, we all wore Jade East cologne, we had to roll down the windows so our eye would stop running. I am very sorry to hear of Mikes passing,your family will be in our prayers.
