Mary Prusak, age 56, of Coldwater, passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at home.

The daughter of Donald & Mary (Brazer) Richards, she was born on September 5, 1959 in Detroit.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Thomas Richards, Gerald Richards, Donnie Richards, Jimmy Richards; and sister, Juanita (Richards) Zinger.  

Surviving are her daughter, Jennifer (Cory) Doty; two sons, Steven Prusak and Justin Carranza; sisters, Michelle Richards and Judy (Bill) Vanover; two brother, Mark Richards, Larry Richards; granddaughters, Alana and Kiera Prusak; grandson, Dylan Doty; along with her loving nieces and nephews.

Mary had a light inside of her, she loved life. She enjoyed being outside gardening, fishing and hunting, listening to music, spending time with her friends and family. She loved to cook and she loved to share her cooking with friends and neighbors. She helped others as often as she could. She had a giving heart. She also had a passion for animals- she loved them all. It didn’t matter if it was a squirrel or raccoon if she could feed it she would! She especially enjoyed watching her hummingbirds buzzing around the feeder in the summer. She saw the beauty in everything. She was a loving mother, sister, and friend. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions my be made out to the Humane Society of Branch County.

A celebration of life will be held from 2:00pm – 5:00pm on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at the Quincy Event Hall, 87 W. Chicago Street, Quincy.

Honoring her wishes, cremation will take place. Arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.
