Martin Lee Gaberdiel, age 62, of Grand Rapids, passed away Thursday evening, October 29, 2009 at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. Martin was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Surviving are his children, Jeffery Gaberdiel of Roscommon, Kristin DeGroot of Allendale and David Gaberdiel of Jenison.

Memorial services are at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 from the chapel of the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans, 3000 Monroe Avenue N.E., Grand Rapids, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.

Military Honors will be rendered by the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard and burial will follow privately.

Instead of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions to the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans.
