Marjorie M. Blaszak, age 95, of Wyoming, passed away Monday, May 15, 2017. Mom was the second child of Clyde & Verna (Conlon) Schooley, born on October 7, 1921. She graduated from Godwin High School in 1939 and shortly thereafter, on a outing to Ramona Park, met Dad, Raymond Blaszak.
Mom enjoyed many activities and hobbies. There were very few things Mom couldn’t do. At age 82, she was on a ladder helping paint her daughter’s living room. She wrote poetry, was an avid crocheter and gardener, but was famous for creating life-like butterflies out of 2 liter pop bottles.
Mom was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years, Ray Blaszak; son, Timothy Blaszak; son-in-law, Al Marckini; sister, Doris VanBuskirk; and brother, Donald Schooley.
Surviving are her daughter, Sherry Marckini; grandsons, Scott (Kristin) Marckini and Jeff (Debbie) Marckini; great grandchildren, Jacob (Darcy), Nathan, Andrew, Matthew, and Lauren Marckini; and a special niece, Cathy Kelly of Vermont. The family wishes to thank Mom’s caregivers at Brookcrest for the excellent care they gave her.
Per Mom’s wishes, cremation has taken place and private family committal services will be held. Those who wish to make contributions in her memory are asked to please consider ALS of West Michigan, Allies for Greyhounds, or the Humane Society.
