Marcia Ann Bouma, age 74, of Kentwood, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Porter Hills. Marcia was a graduate of Grandville High School, received a B.A. degree from Albion College and a Masters in Education from the University of Michigan. Marcia taught mathematics at the East Grand Rapids Jr. High School for eleven years. She founded, owned and operated a used bookstore called the Book Swap for 39 years prior to retirement. Marcia was an avid reader who also enjoyed travelling and playing card games with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank & Nella (Derks) Bouma of Grandville. Surviving is her brother, Bill (Cheryl) Bouma of Holland; and nephews, Chris (Tina) Bouma of Kentwood, and Matt (Kim)Bouma of Clarksburg, Maryland.

There will be no visitation and a private memorial will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Honoring her wishes, cremation will take place. Arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids

    Dear Bill, Cheryl & family, so sorry to hear of your sisters passing. I went to Grandville High School with her. She, Charlene McGrath, Clarice Dine, Linda Blackburn and I chummed around together and had some good times. My prayers are with you and yours, Sincerly, Diane f
