Lois Mae Madura, age 73, of Grand Rapids, passed away early Friday morning, March 9, 2012 at home under the loving care of her family and Faith Hospice.

The daughter of Joseph B. & Jacona Sophia (Kiste) Fischer, she was born on May 28, 1938 in Grand Rapids and retired from the former Butterworth Hospital where she worked as a health nutrition aide.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, George Madura on July 6, 2008. Surviving are her children, Karen Madura, Chuck Madura, and Andrew J. (Angie) Madura, all of Grand Rapids; a brother, Bernie (Sharon) Fischer of Grand Rapids; two sisters, Estelle Roeloffs of Traverse City, and Marrietta Struik of Grand Rapids; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

    Thank you Lois for the many years of hard work,dedication and caring you brought to Brann’s Leonard.
    Your genuine -friendly personality made Brann’s a better place to be for customers and workers.
    I was fortunate to have worked with and become a friend of a very special women.
    Thank you also for giving me the chance to build life long friendships with your family.Karen {daughter} and Josh {Grandson} are and will always be close friends of mine.
    Rest in peace Lois-You made the world a better place by being in it and you will always be in it in spirit.
