Lillian Helmus, age 87, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2012.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob.

She is survived by two children, Maureen (Paul) Sweet and Keith (Sheryl) Helmus of Kentwood; grandchildren, Kristen (David) Bentley of Grand Rapids, Marc (Kathy) Hes of Colorado, Scott (Tikki) Hes of Illinois, Ruth (Drew) Nissly of Pennsylvania, Jonathan (Sara) Helmus of Connecticut; and Bethany Helmus of California; two great grandchildren, one brother-in-law, three sisters-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 17, 2012, at 11:00 am at John Knox Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Lillian’s name to the food pantry of John Knox Presbyterian Church, 4150 Kalamazoo Avenue.

Arrangements were entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.
