Lawana Marlene Miller, age 68, of Sidney, passed away Sunday morning, June 13, 2010 at home under the loving care of her family and Hospice of Michigan.

The daughter of Arthur Raymond & Marion B. (Beach) Tygesen, she was born on Sept. 19, 1941 in Belding. A graduate of Lakeview High School, Lawana retired from the former Gibson Refrigerator Company.

In earlier years, she was active in league golf and bowling, while more recently she enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and tending her flowers however, spending time with her family was always most important.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant sister, Loralee.

Surviving are a daughter, Tammy (Petersen) Rydahl, and her fianc, Bill Jewell, of Sidney; two brothers, Art Tygesen of Sidney and Larry Tygesen & Kathy Burns of Portland; one grandson, Zachary Rydahl of Greenville; her former husband and very special friend, Kenneth H. Miller of Trufant; and two nieces, Terry and Tracy.

Visitation is Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Christiansen Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday.

Pastor Joel Heron of Greenville Community Church will officiate and burial will follow at West Pine Cemetery.  Envelopes for memorial contributions to either Hospice of Michigan or the American Lung Association will be available at the funeral home.
