Larry Lavern Welch, age 78, of Stanton, passed away at home on Thursday, November 21, 2019 under the loving care of his family and Spectrum Health Hospice. The son of Lila Jeanette (Curtis) and Clair Welch, Sr., he was born on March 3, 1941 in Alma.
Larry worked at Gencor and Wright Plastic Products, in addition to farming for 48 years. While farming was his true passion, he also enjoyed woodworking and hunting. On April 18, 1964, in Riverdale, he married Linda Lee Courser and together they enjoyed 55 years of marriage and raised two daughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Clair Welch, Jr.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Welch of Stanton; their daughters, Holly Welch of Elm Hall, and Lisa & Steve Brainard of Stanton; two granddaughters, Melissa & Todd West of Lakeview, and Stephanie & Rob Foster of Stanton; five great-grandchildren, Penelope West, Phoenix West, River West, Savanah Wonsey, and Xander Wonsey; a sister, Janis & Ken Adams of California; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family invites relatives and friends to celebrate Larry's life from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at the Day Township Hall in McBride. Burial will take place in the spring at McBride Cemetery. Instead of flowers, contributions in Larry's memory to Spectrum Health Hospice would be appreciated.
