Swarthout, Larry D. Midland, Michigan

Mr. Swarthout, age 71 passed away Thursday August 26, 2010 at the Saginaw Veterans Medical Center. He was born in Saginaw, MI on March 24, 1939 to the late Maynard & Marjorie (McKee) Swarthout. He served his country in the United States Army. Larry married Ruth Ann (Rittenhouse) on August 29, 2009. She survives him. They owned and operated together the Snappy Delivery. Larry loved to cook. He was a chef at heart, enjoyed traveling, reading books, watching sports, especially the Tigers. He loved going to the gym with his best friend of many years Bob Boetcher. He always kept everyone laughing with his jokes. Surviving besides his wife are his children Marla and Mindy, step children Christina (Scott) Seely of Ohio, Scott (Melanie) Rittenhouse of Saginaw, Kimberly Yarmuth-McWhirter of Saginaw, Jerimy (Michelle) Rittenhouse of Vassar, 15 grandchildren, 3 great grand children, a special Aunt Carol of Breckenridge, MI, sister in law Robbie (John) Barscz of Indiana, Pam Espinosa of Pennsylvania, father in law William Slaughter of Indiana, and a sister Nancy of Midland, MI. Larry was predeceased by a sister Janet Grandy, and a brother Dale Swarthout.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
