Mr. Kenneth James Bush, Sr., age 90, of Greenville, passed away late Tuesday morning, May 22, 2007 at Metron of Greenville after a brief illness. The son of James & Edith (Badge) Bush, he was born on his parents farm near Lakeview on Dec. 14, 1916. A graduate of Lakeview High School, he was a veteran of World War II where he served in the Pacific theater with the U.S. Navy. Following the war, he returned home and continued his employment with the former Gibson Refrigerator Company, retiring after 40 years of service in 1979 as a group leader.

Ken was a proud member of the Ray I. Booth American Legion Post 101 in Greenville, the Lester J. Sitts Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5065 in Sheridan, as well as the Order of the Eastern Star chapter in Greenville. A life member of the Greenville Masonic Lodge No. 96 F&AM, he also had served as an assistant scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 130, and was a long time member of the Langston Church. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Eula M. (Tottingham) Bush on June 21, 1972; two brothers, Donald Bush and Virgil Buss Bush; and a sister, Della Hansen; a half-brother, Elmer Bush; and a half-sister, Hazel Blanchette.

On Sept. 6, 1974, at the Central Montcalm Church of Christ in Sheridan, he married the former Lila L. (Bogart) Badge. Together, they enjoyed traveling and gardening. For 21 years, Ken was a proud vendor at the Greenville Farmers Market.

Surviving are his wife of 32 years, Lila L. Bush of Greenville; two sons, Ken Jr. & Diane Bush of Portland, and Russ & Terri Bush of Big Rapids; a step-son, Barry & Cathy Badge of Newaygo; a sister, Marjorie Larsen of Lakeview; two grandchildren, Cherity Weeks and Marty Badge; five great grandchildren, Kyle, Reed, and Raelynn Robinette, and Ray and Alydia Badge; many nieces and nephews, and many special friends, especially Judy & George Hendrick of Greenville.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 25, 2007 at the Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, with Pastor James Frank officiating. Burial, with full military honors, will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Langston.
