The daughter of Harold Anthony & Violet Irene (Christian) Quillan, she was born on January 22, 1943 in Belding.

On December 4, 1965, in Grand Rapids, she married George D. Chase. An avid golfer and pool player, Kay also enjoyed knitting and crocheting and delighted in making afghans and sweaters for family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister-in-law, Catherine Rippie. Surviving are her husband, George Chase; four sisters and a brother, Shirley & Duane Wood of Wisconsin, Betty & Manuel Rodriguez of Lake Odessa, Michael Quillan, Colleen & Bud McDaniel of Georgia, and Jeanie & Bob Hilliker of Belding; a sister-in-law, Janet Chase of Ionia; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family remembrance will be held. Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the charity of ones choice.

I offer my condolences to the Quillan and Chase families. I went to school with Kay and have fond memories of being teenagers and just hanging out together as a bunch of goof offs. I hadnt seen Kay in many years but remember her vibrant personality and voice.
As some of you may remember, I was married at one time to Ken Palmateer and we had two kids; Scott and Liane. Anyway, Scott is an excellent woodcrafter, my husband Jerry a woodturner and I am a woodburner and we have recently started a cremation urn side line business doing specialty urns and boxes for loved ones. If you ever have need or havent found an urn yet for Kay, please keep us in mind. We do engraving, sandblasting and or woodburning on the urns and have several styles to choose from. We also have a showroom at 1424 W Fenwick Rd. Fenwick.
Again, my heart felt sympathy to you all. Hi Mike….long time no see. Doris

Aunt Kay was such a loving person. I will never forget her. I hear the sound of her laughter in my heart.
I think these words reflect a bit of her: “To thine own self be true.”
Uncle George and everyone, I love you too.
