Jonathon Miles Yarrington, age 27, of Grand Rapids, passed away tragically Thursday, February 23. 2017.

Jonathon was a proud graduate of Wayland High School. Through his life he held many different jobs but finally landed his dream job at Founders Brewery working the night shift. As much as Jonathon loved his job, nothing compared to the love he had for his family. He was the most loving and caring father to his boys. He enjoyed soaking up the sun on the beach, adding to his Jordan collection, and scouring the area for the best craft beers he could find. His smile was contagious and could light up a room. Jonathon loved to laugh and make others do the same.

Jonathon is preceded in death by his father, James Yarrington; aunt, Kelly Haddan; grandmother, Mildred Morford; great grandmother, Betty Haddan; and cousin, Mike Stowe.  Surviving are his loving fiancé, Melissa Bazan; children, Miles, Mason, Tomi, Seth, and Ryle; parents, Lisa Hestikind, Gary & Cindy Berends; grandchildren, Lyric and Luna; siblings, Nicole (Brandon) Carew, Kaylee (Jesse) Dyk, Luke Hestikind, Samantha Berends, Logan Berends, Paige Berends and James Yarrington; grand parents, Linda & Dennis Mishler, Steve Szabo and Roger & Mary Berends; nieces, Cambria and Jada Carew; nephews, Dominyck and Bentley Carew; many aunts; uncles; cousins; and soon to be in-laws; and childhood friends.

A memorial service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 3627 Linden Ave. S.E. Grand Rapids with a visitation one hour prior. A luncheon will follow at Founders Brewery, 235 Grandville Ave S.W. Grand Rapids.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made out to the family for final expenses. There will be envelopes at the service or you can donate at GoFundMe.

Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place. Arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.

My Thoughts and Prayers to the Yarrington family. I found out recently from a very dear friend of mine, who is the the grandfather of Jon, who helped me when my daughter Hannah was killed in crash that was no fault of her own as like Jon she was hit and killed by a distracted driver. To the parents of Jon please know the walking of the Valley of the Shadow of death (Ps. 23) is best walked with the comfort and support of friends, family and our faith. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if there is anything I can do help just as Jon’s grandfather did for me.
May God’s blessings of peace and comfort be felt.
