Sgt. First Class John Paul Wiegand, age 76, of Muskegon, passed away early Sunday morning, July 15, 2012 at his home under the loving care of his family and Harbor Hospice.

A decorated veteran of the Vietnam War, John served with with the U.S Army for 20 years and was a receipient of the Bronze Star Medal, as well as the Vietnam Gallantry Cross.

Survivors include his wife, Ngoc (Vu) Wiegand of Muskegon; two daughters, Angela William and Ciny Thurng Vu; two sons, Vu Nguyen and Michael Wiegand; and a niece, Carla Wiegand.

Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place. Arrangements were entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, honored providers of Veterans Funeral Care.
