John J. Smalling, age 62, of Sparta, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 surrounded by family.
The son of Gerald & Evelyn (Embrow) Smalling, he was born on July 13, 1954 in New York, NY.
John is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Gerald Smalling.
Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place. Arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.

John was my first cousin. We spent time with each other as children in Long Island, NY. We never lost touch though many years passed not seeing each other. I will truly miss him and his voice, but know I will see him again. Many blessings my dear cousin Johnny.
