John Harvey Caldwell, age 67,  a U.S. Army veteran, died Monday, February 12, 2018 in Battle Creek.  The son of Harvey D. & Laura Gertrude (Gardner) Caldwell, he was born on February 9, 1951 in Battle Creek.  A veteran of the U.S. Army, John served during the Vietnam War era and following his honorable discharge, worked in the construction trades.

He was preceded in death by his parents;  a sister, Audrey Caldwell;  and a sister-in-law, Mary Caldwell.  Survivors include a brother, Robert Caldwell;  three nieces;  five great-nieces;  and two great-nephews.
