I don’t buy the Daily News and I haven’t been in Greenville in the last two weeks. But I said no when I readed Joanne Thomas(Spohn). I didn’t know that there was anything wrong with Joann. She was a great friend and always remember her. She had the most awesome personal. Mom, Bob and Jerry your in my prayers.

    Jo (Paulsen) Spry

My prayers and heartfelt sympathy goes out to all of Jo’s family and close friends. As elementary and middle school age children, the Paulsens and Spohns lived across the street from each other. Jerry and I were very close friends and Jo was always right there with us. Playing Beatles songs into the night, having Bob, (the older brother) teasing us, and eating dinner around the Spohn’s table are fond memories I still cherish.
I know Joanne’s passing has saddened many, particularly those of us whose lives she has touched. Eileen, Jerry and Bob, I’m so sorry to hear this news and wish you much comfort in the hearing and telling of the memories you’ve shared and also wish you peace in knowing she is now an Angel among us.

I just received the Daily News and found out about Joanne. I would like to let the family know how sorry I am to get this sad news. I met Joanne through her sister Jeryl and always thought a lot of her and her family. You all have my deepest sympathy in your loss. My heart goes out to you.

Aunt Jo was always such a sweet and encouraging woman. When I had my first 2 girls only a year and a half apart, Aunt Jo would come over and hold a fussy baby so I could do the dishes or laundry. I rememer she would sing the sweetest lullabies that I had never heard before. I did not see her much in the last few years but I love her and will miss her terribly. I will be praying for our family’s hurting hearts to heal.

I have many fond memories of Jo starting in my youth when I was a friend of her sister Jerry’s. I loved going to the Spohn home where laughter was always plentiful. Crustix anyone? Jo was such fun and her sense of humor and laughter were a joy to witness. We bowled on a league together with our mutual friend Colleen. COKAJOKA forever! Jo and I also shared the love of my brother Ron, which will be our bond forever. My love to Eileen, Jerry and Bob.

I was so shocked to hear this news, I didn’t call or visit, I only saw Joanne once in a while at Meijer. We exchanged christmas cards each year. She sent me the nicest card after I lost my mom. She was a super person with a heart of gold. My favorite memories of her will be when we were younger, I would spend the night with her and babysat Megan. I also had the pleasure of Megan babysitting for my kids. Then I babysat Joey and he played with Ryan and Kristen. She will be greatly missed. My heart goes out to all of her family.
