Joanne L. Thomas, age 55, of Greenville, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2009 in Grand Rapids. The daughter of Floyd & Eileen (Ridgon) Spohn, she was born on April 5, 1954 in Greenville.
Joanne worked as the Administrative Coordinator for the Greenville Department of Public Safety, and her hobbies included gardening and tending to her many flowerbeds. She also enjoyed her getaways to Alpena and all of the memories she created with her grandson, Brycen.
She was preceded in death by her father, Floyd and one sister, Kathleen Spohn. Surviving are her mother, Eileen Spohn of Greenville; her children, Megan & Jamar Webb of Grand Rapids, and Joel Thomas of Greenville; one grandson, Brycen; a brother, Robert Spohn & Sue Fitte of Greenville; a sister, Jeryl & David DeBoer of Greenville; several very close nieces and nephews; and many friends who were dear to her.
Memorial services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at St. Pauls Episcopal Church, Greenville, with Father John Kirkman officiating. Joanne would have appreciated memorials to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Montcalm County.
