Jimmy Dare Rittenberry, 76, of Greenville, passed away Monday, December 21, 2015 at 11:26 p.m. at the Fred & Lena Meijer Heart Center at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids following a long battle.

The son of Wilbur Samuel & Onie Louise (Simpson) Rittenberry, he was born on September 9, 1939 in Louisville, Kentucky.  On June 27, 1968, in Greenville, he married Marilyn Ann Cutler and together they enjoyed over 47 years of marriage.  Together they raised their family in Greenville and in retirement enjoyed spending their winters in Desert Hot Springs, California. 

A proud veteran of the Michigan National Guard, he retired from the former Electrolux Home Products as a supervisor after 30 years of service.  Jim was a wonderful husband, loving father and will be truly missed by all that knew him.

Surviving are his loving wife, Marilyn Rittenberry of Greenville;  five daughters, Kelly & Billy O'Brien, Theresa & Vince Bennett, Kim & Michael Carrick, Robin & Troy Miller, and Tonja Rittenberry & Tim Nielsen;  thirteen grandchildren;  seven great grandchildren;  a brother, Sam Rittenberry;  life-long friend, Roger Cavender;  and many other close friends.

    Jim, I will always remember the fun we had playing washers, watching NASCAR and your twice a year visits when passing through Colorado. I’ll miss you. Rest in Peace.
