James L. Bales, age 69, of Battle Creek, a U.S. Army veteran, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center-Battle Creek. 

Committal services, with military honors, are at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Road, Augusta(please meet at 9:45 a.m. at the procession staging area inside the cemetery gates).
