Memorial Service: 4:00 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2009 at Douglass Township Hall, Entrican
Mrs. Irene Lucille Jorgensen, 84, formerly of Edmore, passed away Tuesday afternoon, March 31, 2009 at Spectrum Health United Memorial-United Hospital, Greenville. The daughter of Oscar & Eva (Jamieson) Richardson, she was born on Sept. 10, 1924 in Boyne City. Irene grew up in Carson City, where she attended school, and on Feb. 1, 1942 she married Reed Carlyle Jorgensen.
Together they made their home in Edmore and raised three children. A devoted wife and mother, she delighted in spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a talented musician, enjoyed being active at the senior center and playing cards, and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Lester J. Sitts Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5065 in Sheridan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Clara David and Thelma Henry; and two brothers, Lonnie Richardson and Donald Richardson.
Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Reed Jorgensen; their children, Chris & Donna Jorgensen of Gladstone, Missouri, Curtis Jorgensen of Remus, and Cheryl & Cliff Dobbrastine of Lakeview; four grandchildren, Marcy & Tim Simon of Greenville, Kandi & Dustin Holmstrom of Rockford, Joshua & Becky Jorgensen, and Nicki Jorgensen, all of Florida; seven great grandchildren, Shaleigh, Hunter, & Seth Simon, Brinley, Reed, & Keagan Holmstrom, and Reed Jorgensen; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2009 at the Douglass Township Hall, Entrican, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 3-4 p.m. Mrs. Jorgensens grandson, Pastor Tim Simon of the Rockford Resurrection Life Church, will officiate and a luncheon will follow the ceremony.
