Inez Kathleen Taylor, age 87, of Greenville, passed away Thursday morning, November 5, 2015 at her home under the loving care of her family and Heartland Hospice. The daughter of Hans Herbert & Alma Anna (Rydahl) Hansen, she was born on January 5, 1928 in Greenville, and was a 1946 graduate of Greenville High School.
On December 11, 1948, she married Richard James Taylor and together they enjoyed almost 67 years of marriage and raised four children. Inez enjoyed camping with her family, was a Detroit Tigers fan, liked watching The Wheel of Fortune and The Price Is Right, as well as enjoying canning. She will be remembered by her family as the best pie maker in the world — the secret was her homemade crust.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; and one brother.
Surviving are her husband, Richard J. "Dick" Taylor of Greenville; their four children, Edward Taylor of Stanton, Larry & Robin Taylor of Greenville, Kathleen & Rick Stout of Stanton, and Mary & Nick Bauman of Greenville; five grandchildren, James & Mindi Taylor of Cedar Springs, Mandy & Rob Putnam of Sheridan, Jerrud & Celeste Stout of Stanton, Doug & Sarah Bauman serving with the U.S. Navy, and Carrie Bauman of Greenville; twelve great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation is from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday at Christiansen Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Chaplain Madelyn Thompson of Heartland Hospice will officiate and burial will take place privately at Little Denmark Cemetery in Gowen.
Instead of flowers, Inez would have appreciated contributions in her memory to the Heartland Hospice Memorial Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Dear Dick and Family. It is with sorrow that we read about Inez passing on. We remember many good times when we were neighbors in North Greenville in the mid 50’s when our families were very young. Our sincere condolences to you. Marv and Pat Christensen in Arizona.
