Ilene Ruth Thomsen, age 90, of Sidney, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at home. The daughter of Victor E. & Ilah (Jack) Morgan, Ilene was born on October 9, 1926 in Amble and was a graduate of Morley High School.
On June 1, 1946, in Sidney, she married George Henry Thomsen, and together they enjoyed 48 years of marriage and raised three children. Ilene also worked outside the home at Hitachi Magnetics Corporation in Edmore and was a long time member of Faith LutheranChurch in Sidney.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Henry Thomsen on July 5, 1994; a sister, Imogene Thomsen; and four brothers, Terry Morgan, Jack Morgan, Bernard Morgan, and Arnold Morgan .
Surviving are her children, George Thomsen of Sidney, Kathy & Jeff Brockdorf of Carney, Michigan, and Dennis & Jean Thomsen of Rockford; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Honoring Ilene's wishes for simplicity, no services will be held and burial will take place in North Sidney Cemetery.

Dear Kathy and family,
I am so sorry about your loss of your mom and also about my loss of a cousin. I liked Ileen so much and admired her many wonderful qualities. She seemed very happy and content when I spoke with her on the phone recently. She aged so gracefully. You were blessed to have a great woman as a mother. So sorry about your mom passing, she felt a little bit like family. My mom and I so enjoyed her company at concerts, thanksgiving and other occasions. What a privilege to have her in our life, she will be so missed. But she is in heaven where all our dreams come true, our condolences to your family
Ilene and I had a lot of fun together traveling and going to dances. I enjoyed her friendship very much, I was sad to hear of her passing, she was a good person. Barbara
