Gregory Allen Root, age 51, of Montcalm Township, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 upon arrival at Spectrum Health-United Hospital in Greenville.  The son of Wilford H. & Norma Jean (Whaley) Root, he was born on November 1, 1963 in Saginaw and had worked as an asbestos abatement technician.

He was preceded in death by his parents.  Surviving are his friend and companion, Carrie S. Brooks of Sidney;  two sons, Austin Root and Dalton Root, both of Florida;  two step-daughters, Cherie Thomas and Rachael Morse; a brother, Lance Root of Saginaw; and many special friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial benefit and gathering beginning at 4:00 p.m.on Saturday, March 28th at the Greenville Moose Lodge, 5649 S Greenville Road (next to Randy Merren Auto Sales), Greenville.  Instead of flowers, donations towards Greg's final expenses would be appreciated.  Contributions may be made directly to Christiansen Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S.
