Gordon Charles Scribner, age 79, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at home surrounded by family. The son of Fred Amos & Eilene Marie (Porter) Scribner he was born on January 13, 1939 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Gordon spent most of his career working several years as a manager of a gas station, and as the manager of an auto shop until his retirement. His days since mostly consisted of unexpected road trips he and his wife loved to go on frequently. Gordon also enjoyed riding his golf cart up and down their area in Grand Rapids. He is known for the goofy jokes and stories he always loved to share with friends and family. He always knew how to keep everyone laughing, and never knew if they were tall tales or the truth. Gordon liked to call them “mostly fibs,” and he would tell whoppers just to see everyones reactions! He will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his wife of 32 years, Vicki Scribner; his children, Gordon (Robin) Scribner Jr., Emer (Danny) Johnston, Lori Hayes, James (Sue) Fisher, and Terry (Marie) Fisher; two sisters, Scharlene Southwick, and JoAnne Scribner; two brothers, Harold (Elaine) Scribner, and Donald (Janice) Scribner; as well as several wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Honoring his wishes cremation will take place, and a private family remembrance will be held. To send a message of sympathy to the family, sign Gordon’s online guest book, or to share a favorite memory, please visit: www.MichiganCremation.com

Arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.

There are so many things I could say about you Dad, but I don’t have to. Everyone who knew you knew that you were a crazy funny man. I couldn’t have asked for a better father-in-law or grandpa for my children. We will never forget all the good times we had with you and Mom. I couldn’t have loved you more.
