Gary Thomas Parkin, age 57, of Greenville, passed away late Friday evening, August 5, 2016 at his home under the loving care of his family and Ionia Area Hospice.  The son of Henry Austin & Mildred Elvira (Paul) Parkin, he was born on June 27, 1959 in Royal Oak and spent most of his career as a journeyman in the tool and die trades.

On August 24, 1985, in Ionia, he married Becky Sue Herbert and together they raised two children and enjoyed almost 31 years of marriage.  Gary was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are his wife, Becky Parkin;  their children, Zachary Parkin and Mindy Parkin, all of Greenville;  a brother, Grant & Carol Parkin of St. Johns;  siblings-in-law, Mike Herbert & Elaina Roach of Missouri, Vicki & Ed Hatt of Fenwick;  and Debbi & Kevin Clay of Dowling;  and several nieces and nephews.
