Gary Bruce Petersen, age 76, of Lakeview, passed away Friday, June 1, 2018 at Spectrum Health Kelsey Hospital.  The son of Clifford LeRoy & Hannah Jane (Mills) Petersen, he was born on August 23, 1941 in Greenville. 

Gary was a purchasing manager with the RJ Tower Corporation in Greenville and retired as a general manager and vice president for Lapeer Metal Products.  He enjoyed anything getting him outdoors–hunting, ice fishing, and golfing.  He was an avid Michigan StateUniversity fan and deligted in coaching girls softball in Lakeview as well as rocket football in Lapeer. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three siblings, Phil Petersen, Diane Harnish, and Barbara Large.  Surviving are his children, Kathy & David Lobert of Lakeview, Shelly & Armondo Giron of Grand Rapids, and Sandy & Hank Thielemann of Biglerville, Pennsylvania; his children's mother, Mary Jo Hunt of Edmore; two step-children, Erick & Carrie Hamilton of Flint and Aaron Hamilton of Seattle, Washington; their mother, Sue Petersen; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren;  two brothers, David & Robin Petersen of Lakeview, and Kim & Terrie Petersen of Greenville; three sisters, Bonnie & Gordon Wheeler of Choctaw, Oklahoma, Joyce Hilton of Summerfield, Florida, and Mary & Jay Ruthruff of Blanchard,  and several nieces and nephews and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of life gathering beginning at2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Gary's home, 5460 W.
