Franklin D. Vincent, age 71, of rural Greenville, passed away Wednesday morning, July 2, 2014 at his home under the loving care of his family and Spectrum Health Hospice. The son of Chester G. & Belva Dora (Kelly) Vincent, he was born on July 13, 1942 in Sumner Township, Gratiot County.
After graduating high school, Frank began working for the former Gibson Refrigerator Company and retired from Electrolux Home Products after 40 years of service. He enjoyed gardening and helping his Amish friends and neighbors. On October 26, 1963, at Wheeler, he married Bonnie Lee Green and together they raised two children and enjoyed 50 years of marriage.
He was preceded in death by his father, Chester G. Vincent, who died as a prisoner of war in World War II; his mother, Belva Moore; a brother, Jim; and a daughter, Kristine Michelle Vincent on May 6, 1985.
Surviving are his wife, Bonnie Vincent of Greenville; a son, Kevin Michael Vincent of Kaleva; a granddaughter, Kristine Michelle Vincent of Manistee; two great grandchildren, Lexi Lauren and Kolton Carl; ten brothers and sisters, Gloria, Dee, Rex, Claudia, Marlene, Robin, Freda, Myrna, Lionel, and Dale; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial gathering to be held on September 6, 2014 at Frank & Bonnies home, with a time of sharing beginning at 1:00 p.m. and followed by food and fellowship. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place.
