Fannie Yvonne Field, age 75, of rural Sheridan, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at her home under the loving care of her family and Heartland Hospice. The daughter of Henry James & Marjorie Elizabeth Leola (Shinabarger) Miller, she was born on September 10, 1940 in Lowell.
Fannie will long be remembered by her family as a hard working, hard loving woman who would "tell it as she seen it, whether you liked it or not" . She raised four children on her own, after the love of her life, Leslie C. Field was taken from her. Fannie taught her children to love, be kind, and be strong… as was demonstrated by her ability to "collect" kids. Besides her own birth children, many others called her "Mom" and were welcomed into her home when they had no where else to stay. While she enjoyed the outdoors, flea markets, and tractor pulls and farm equipment shows, she found her greatest joy in time spent with family and friends.
In addition to her husband and her parents, she was also preceded in death by two daughters, Marilyn Field and Carolyn Lindberg; a grandson, Joseph Edward Howell, Jr.; and a brother, Alvin Miller.
Surviving are her children, Ralph Field & LuAnn Prowdley, Loren & Patricia Field, and Connie & Greg Wright, all of Sheridan; two sisters, Esther & John Williams of Pewamo, and Sharon Miller of McBride; two brothers, Kenneth Miller of Arizona, and Keith Miller of Big Rapids; six grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday at Greenville Community Church, 6596 S. Vining Road, Greenville, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Chaplain Madelyn Thompson of Heartland Hospice will officiate and a luncheon will follow the ceremony in the church hall. Burial will take place later in the spring at South Sidney Cemetery.
Instead of flowers, Fannie would have appreciated contributions to the Spectrum Health Lemmen-Holton Cancer Pavilion to purchase gas cards for cancer patients and their families. Envelopes will be available at the church.
