I had a great deal of respect for Ernie. He tried to do the right thing, and was brave in his actions. He taught me much during the time I was learning to be an advocate for the handicapped. I will remember him as being very, very smart–and trustworthy. I was fortunate to have known him as a friend. He had a kind heart. My sympathy to his family. Judy Corak

I would like to express my sympathies to Ernie’s family. He and I were in school together and he was always a very nice person. He will be missed.

I would like to express my condolences to the Fry family. I was in the 6th grade class with Ernie. I remember walking home from school with him. That has been many, many years ago. I was surprised to see that he passed away. I had no idea that he resided near where I live. My thoughts and prayers are with your family, as I know it is hard to loose a child. We lost our son last August, he had a major heart attack. He was only 42 with 2 young children and wife that are left behind. I left Dowagiac when I got married in 1963. I have lost track of alot of people from Dowagiac. My parents are both deceased. I do have one brother that still there, and a few other relatives.
