Erik “Rick” Edward Stiles, age 53, of Grand Rapids passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital. 

The son of Edd Stiles & Sandra Coale, he was born on February 19, 1964 in Cedar Springs. 

Rick is preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Coale. He is survived by his beloved wife, Leilani Stiles; cherished daughter, Erika Stiles; father, Edd (Pam) Stiles; sisters, Kimberly (Lance) Gates, Tammie (James) Batts, Julee (Eric) Pavelka; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He enjoyed reading, playing the guitar, singing, and studying Bible prophecies.

A memorial service will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Central Seventh-day Adventist Church, 100 Sheldon Blvd. S.E., Grand Rapids, with Pastor Bob Stewart officiating. A luncheon will follow the service.

    As we grieve your passing from us, we rejoice that you are pain free and in your beloved Lord’s presence. Lovely memories from when you were a child, blessed to have my life touched by you in adulthood. My prayers and love to all the family.

    I remember working at visiting nurse….he spoke so highly of his daughter. Im saddened by this news

    Saddened to hear of Ricks passing. Great memories of him and his mature ways back in middle school. A gentle soul taken from this earth too soon. You will be missed by many, but we take comfort knowing you are with our Heavenly Father.
