Mrs. Ellen L. Weber, age 94, of Greenville, passed away Monday evening, Feb. 27, 2006 at the Laurels of Kent, Lowell. The daughter of Dudley & Maude (Cooper) Peterman, she was born on Dec. 20, 1911 in Greenville. In Sept. 2, 1933, in Greenville, she married Frank Weber.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Ellen had also been a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and was active in the Rachael Circle at the church. An excellent cook and baker, she took great joy in preparing good things to eat for her family, friends, and church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank Weber on Oct. 28, 1975; a son, Gilbert Weber; three brothers, Raymond Peterman, Homer Peterman, and Earl Hall; two sisters, Viva Hansen and Marie Godfrey; and a grandson, Gilbert Weber, Jr.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Janice & Lynwood Cannon of Lakeview; a son and two daughters-in-law, Melvan & Phyllis Weber of Greenville, and Verna Weber of Grand Rapids; two sisters, Mildred Frandsen and Rena Edwards, both of Lansing; a brother, Charles Hall of Greenville; a sister-in-law, Rachael Peterman; nine grandchildren, Jenny Bennett, JoAnn Lay, Beth Kelly, Pam Greenhoe, LeeAnn Francis, Douglas Weber, Steven Weber, Sandy Harper, and Gilbert Weber, Jr.; 18 great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 3, 2006 at the Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, with the Rev. Scott Lindner, pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will follow at East Montcalm Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Envelopes for contributions in memory of Mrs. Weber to Hospice of Michigan will be available at the funeral home.
