Mrs. Elinor F. Sabin, age 94, formerly of Lansing, Trufant, and Carson City, passed away late Monday evening, July 10, 2006 under the loving care of her family and Hospice at the home of her daughter in Mount Pleasant. The daughter of Frank & Clara (Lefke) Kolberg, she was born on May 13, 1912 in Lansing. She married Herman Sabin on June 7, 1929 in Lansing, where they raised their family until retiring to the Trufant area.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman, on July 9, 1987; a sister, Frances Merlie; a brother, Irvin Kolberg; and a grandson, Allen L. Gilbert.

Surviving are three daughters, Lorna Spitler of New Era, Rhea & LeVer Butch Gilbert of Sheridan, and Sandra & John Kuchar of Mount Pleasant; three sons, Richard Sabin of Alabama, Lieu & Helen Sabin of Florida, and Jack Sabin of Missouri; two sisters, Arlene Conner of Diamondale, and Betty Cushion of Lansing; a brother, Frank Kolberg of Dewitt; twenty-two grandchildren; many, many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2006 from the Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, with burial following at Trufant Cemetery. The Rev. Rolla J. Timmons, retired pastor of the Edmore First Church of God, will officiate. Visitation is on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home, where envelopes for memorial contributions to Heartland Hospice are available.
