Elaine Marie Alexander, age 80, of Rockford, formerly of Grosse Ile, passed away late Thursday evening, November 22, 2018 at her home under the loving care of her family.

The daughter of George Stewart & Dorothy Olive (Larkin) Japp, she was born on July 24, 1938 in Detroit.  On July 28, 1956, in Detroit, she married Michael Peter Alexander.  Together they enjoyed 58 years of marriage and raised four children.

Elaine enjoyed traveling and her greatest joy was in time spent with her family and especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents;  her husband, Michael, and her daughter Stacie Alexander Fallon.

Surviving are her children Kim Alexander of Rockford, Jim & Mickey Stratton of Rochester Hills, and Michael & Gabrielle Alexander of Newport Beach;  a son-in-law, Dan Fallon of Glen Ellyn, Illinois; thirteen grandchildren;  one great grandson;  a brother, Bill & Donna Japp of Tennessee;  a sister, Judy Miner of Plymouth;  and several nieces and nephews.

Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place and private family services will be held at a later date.
