Mrs. Dorothy A. Heald, of Greenville, passed away on the afternoon of her 90th birthday, Thursday, July 30, 2009. The daughter of Ivan George & Hilda Sophia (Johnson) Dann, she was born on July 30, 1919 near Ensley Center.

Following high school, Dorothy attended Spring Arbor College and then worked at the Wolverine World Wide glove factory. In 1952, at Belding, she married Harvey N. Heald. Together, they raised three children and enjoyed 51 years of marriage until Harvey passed away on Jan. 11, 2004.

She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Ann Heald; her parents; three sisters, Esther M. Rhoads, Ruth Brandow, and Hazel Dann; and a brother, John Dann.

Surviving are two sons, Nelson & JoAnn Heald of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Chuck Heald of Greenville; a daughter, Jan & Eddie Allen of Adrian; eleven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Dann of Greenville, and Charles & Alga Dann of Mancelona; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services are at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009 at the Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where the family will receive relatives and friends Friday from 6-8 p.m.
