Donald Thure Cerling, age 76, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Manistee, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Hospital, Grand Rapids. The son Thure & Alice (Stenfelt) Cerling, he was born on December 10, 1934, in Elmhurst, Illinois.

Donald was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean War. Following his discharge, he held various positions, including System Analyst and Technical Writer for companies such as IBM and Standard Oil.

Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place and he will be interred with his late wife, Leslie, at Oak Grive Cemetery in Manistee.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Michigan Cremation Company, Grand Rapids, an honored provider of Veterans Funeral Care.
