Mrs. Diane Kay Almy, age 67, formerly of Coral, passed away Monday morning, Nov. 24, 2008 at The Laurels of Carson City. The daughter of Ralph Ruffus & Marjorie Ruth (Sisson) Kiste, she was born on Feb. 7, 1941 in Greenville and graduated from Belding High School.
On March 4, 1958, in Greenville, she married Dick Donovan Almy. Diane was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed crocheting, baking cakes, and participating in her Secret Pals gatherings. In recent years, she delighted in knitting hats for the less fortunate and was an avid bird watcher.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dick Almy on Nov. 3, 2002; a granddaughter, Brandy Rose; and her step-mother, Norma Kiste. Surviving are her children, Debra Morden, Dick Almy II, Marjorie & Lewis Miller, Jr., Jack & Vanita Almy, and Charlotte Kellams; her grandchildren, Tadd Flintoff, Adrian Flintoff, Sarrah & Felipe Dominguez, Yolanda Almy, Jessica Almy, Howard & Jennifer Almy, Joseph Almy, Kimberly Almy, Bobbie Dann-Miller, Amber & Ruben Arenas, Ashley Almy, Robert Kellams, Geraldine Radilla-Diego, Kotisha Kellams, Samantha Geister, and Mitchell Jones; nineteen great-grandchildren; four sisters, Carol Caroll, Cindy & Donald McMillian, Gail & Daniel Hoag, and Lynne & Raymond Pollock; two brothers, Jerry & Valarie Sisson, and Carl & Beth Sisson; and many, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008 at the Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, with burial following at Cato Township Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 12-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
