David Ross Lowry, age 75, of Lakeview, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2015 at the Fred & Lena Meijer Heart Center in Grand Rapids.  
The son of Russell Don & Hilma (Ross) Lowry, he was born on December 28, 1939 near Cedar Lake. 

After graduating from Greenville High School in 1958, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy.  On January 6, 1962 he married Lillian May Lepley and together they enjoyed 51 years of marriage and raised two children, before her death on September 7, 2013.  He was also preceded in death by his parents;  and an infant son, Darin L. Lowry on December 19, 1966.

David had worked at Federal-Mogul Corp. in Greenville and also had been a carrier for The Daily News.  He was a life member of the Hough-Pontius Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3701 in Lakeview, enjoyed hunting and fishing and small engine repair, and delighted in taking his dogs for car rides.

Surviving are his children, Bob Lowry & Shannon Bucholtz of Trufant, and Trina & Joe Edmondson of Wyoming; four grandchildren, Amber & Damon Martens, Megan & Brad Wubbeling, Justin Edmondson, and Brynn Lowry; three great-grandchildren, Ryen Martens, Owen Martens, and Adley Wubbeling.  Also surviving are his brother and sister-in-law, William & Mellie Lowry of Greenville;  many nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws and friends, as well as four special pets — two dogs and two cats.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate David's life from 1-4 p.m. onSaturday, Nov. 7th at the Hough-Pontius VFW Post No. 3701, 8968 N. Greenville Road, Lakeview (located on M-91 just south of the M-46 intersection). 

Instead of flowers, David would have appreciated those wishing to give a lasting tribute make donations to the Hough-Pontius VFW Post No. 3701.

    Sorry to learn of Dave’s passing. We attended the Greenville public schools together.
    Enjoyed the times we had at Baldwin Lake. Dave lived there and we never wanted for fun times. My condolences to the Lowery family.

    I am sad to hear of Dave’s death. Dave was one of my favorite cousins. We grew up together, and we used to play hockey and swim and race our boats on Baldwin Lake. He will be greatly missed.

    We where neighbors of Dave’s for years our kids grew up together. We are sorry to hear about Dave’s passing. We had a lot of good times together. Couldn’t help but love him all our best wish’s to the family.
