David A. Cliff, age 58, of Greenville, passed away Wednesday morning, Nov. 9, 2016 from injuries received in an automobile accident in Kent County.  The son of Shirley Mae (Tillapaugh) & Arthur Allen Cliff, Jr., he was born on December 21, 1957 in Greenville and was a graduate of Greenville High School. 

On July 13, 1990, in Ionia, he married Brenda Marie Morgan and together they enjoyed 26 years of marriage.  David worked at Moller North America in Grand Rapids, was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Greenville, and enjoyed golfing, bowling, and NASCAR, and delighted in time spent with his family.  Even in death, David gave the gift of life by being a tissue donor. 

He was preceded in death by his father,  Arthur A. Cliff Jr., on April 21, 2001;  and by his mother, Shirley M. Cliff, on March 5, 2011.

Surviving are his wife, Brenda Cliff of Greenville;  their children, Jillian Cliff of Hudsonville, Staff Sgt. Scott Cliff serving with the U.S. Army in Germany, Dustin & Jessica Johnson of Grandville, Trinity Cliff & Alan Conroe, Jordan & Josette Cliff, Bryson Cliff, and Xylar Cliff, all of Greenville;  twelve grandchildren;  three sisters, Mary & Randy Merren, Barbara & Larry Jensen, all of Greenville, Marjorie & Jeff Snyder of Grattan; a half-sister, JoEllen & Melvin Empie of Cedar Springs;  a half-brother, Mark & Darlene Cliff of Cedar Springs;  parents-in-law, Charles & Mary Morgan of Ionia (formerly of Stanton);  a brother-in-law, Charles Morgan of Greenville;  a sister-in-law, Shree Beardslee of Greenville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Visitation with the family is from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, November 18th at Christiansen Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, and a celebration of David's life will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, November 19th at the  Moose Lodge, 5649 S. Greenville Road, Greenville.

    I was sorry to hear of Dave’s passing. I am sorry that I didn’t come with James to Michigan. I thank Dave and all of you for being such good friends to Rodney. I will always remember the fun we had at the Michigan speedway and in the camp before and after the races. Dave always called me MJ for Mrs. James. I miss seeing all of you. I wish all of you God’s peace.
