Daniel L. Goodwin, age 75, of Rockford, passed away Friday, July 7, 2017 at The Laurels of Kent in Lowell following a brief illness.  The son of Wilbur & Thelma M. (Waldron) Goodwin, he was born on July 30, 1941 in Greenville and was a graduate of Greenville High School. 

Daniel retired from Federal-Mogul Corporation in Greenville and enjoyed two-step and square dancing, loved finding a bargain at garage sales and dollar stores, was an avid outdoorsman and hunter, and also enjoyed baseball and collectibles.

He was preceded in death by his parents;  a sister, Naomi Rupert;  a sister-in-law, Rose Goodwin;  and a brother-in-law, Art Buckley. 

Surviving are his daughters, Robin June Goodwin of Alto, and Christine May Goodwin of Lowell;  four grandchildren, Ashlei Coleman of Alto, Jessica Deering and her fiance, Brad Kemp, of Clayton, North Carolina, Dylan Deering of Clayton, North Carolina, and Olivia & Michael Hite of Cutlerville;  a sister, Alice Buckley of Evart;  two brothers, Gilbert & Joan Goodwin of California and David Goodwin of Greenville;  and many, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.

Visitation with the family is from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday at Christiansen Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville.  The evening will conclude with a committal prayer service led by the Rev. Phillip Mills, pastor of Greenville Bible Methodist Church.  Honoring Daniel's wishes, cremation has taken place and burial will be in Eureka Township Cemetery.

    Greetings Family,. Our family is getting smaller and smaller!! I stay in assisted living in Sheldon Meadows in Hudsonville, MI I would like to see any of you that get in the area,. I am the only one left in my family, so it would be nice to connect! Sorry to learn of Daniel’s death. Keep your memorial close to your heart!!! A hug for each of you!!     All of us at the SandLake dance signed a card last Thursday night for Dan wishing him well, not realizing he was already gone to be with his maker. We were so sad to read of his passing in the paper! He will really be missed by all of us at the different dances he came to .We will miss his smiling face and of course all the cute trinkets he would bring us women. Don’t be a stranger Ashlei we always enjoyed it when you came with your grandpa!! Our prayers go out to you and yours. All of us at the Sand Lake and Six Lakes dances!
