Dana June Rausch, age 61, of Trufant, passed away New Year's Day, January 1, 2016 at her home after battling heart disease for many years. The daughter of Ruetta Lee (Jones) & Herman Kosten, Sr., she was born on March 28, 1954 in Greenville. A graduate of Belding High School, she married Darrell Lee Rausch on October 23, 1976 in Belding.
Dana was an avid reader, loved the outdoors, canoeing, and camping, but delighted in her role as a Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother… especially when all her family was gathered together.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Darrell L. Rausch on Jan. 20, 1993; a daughter, Brandy Rausch-Hall; and Brandy's unborn child.
Surviving are two daughters, Casey Christie of Howard City, and Jessica Rausch-Howey and her husband Darryl Howey, both of Trufant; a step-daughter, Katy Rausch of Grand Haven; a step-son, Jason & Amy Rausch of Langston; her grandchildren, Chelsey Christie, Corbin Christie, Devon Gondre, Clayton Ward, Gordon Rausch, and Conner Rausch; two great-grandsons, Preston Christie and Logan Gondre; a sister, Shawn & Larry Jaquays of Belding; a brother, Herman & Edith Kosten of Greenville; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial gathering from 12-2 p.m. on Saturday at Christiansen Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, with a family prayer service concluding the gathering. A reception will immediately follow at the Trufant Community Center (the former Danish Brotherhood Hall) in downtown Trufant.
While Dana loved flowers, contributions for the wishes of the family (checks payable to Jessica Rausch-Howey) would be appreciated. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
