Dana June Rausch, age 61, of Trufant, passed away New Year's Day, January 1, 2016 at her home after battling heart disease for many years.  The daughter of Ruetta Lee (Jones) & Herman Kosten, Sr., she was born on March 28, 1954 in Greenville.  A graduate of Belding High School, she married Darrell Lee Rausch on October 23, 1976 in Belding.

Dana was an avid reader,  loved the outdoors, canoeing, and camping, but delighted in her role as a Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother… especially when all her family was gathered together.

She was preceded in death by her parents;  her husband, Darrell L. Rausch on Jan. 20, 1993;  a daughter, Brandy Rausch-Hall;  and Brandy's unborn child.

Surviving are two daughters, Casey Christie of Howard City, and Jessica Rausch-Howey and her husband Darryl Howey, both of Trufant;  a step-daughter, Katy Rausch of Grand Haven;  a step-son, Jason & Amy Rausch of Langston;  her grandchildren, Chelsey Christie, Corbin Christie, Devon Gondre, Clayton Ward, Gordon Rausch, and Conner Rausch;  two great-grandsons, Preston Christie and Logan Gondre;  a sister, Shawn & Larry Jaquays of Belding;  a brother, Herman & Edith Kosten of Greenville;  and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial gathering from 12-2 p.m. on Saturday at Christiansen Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, with a family prayer service concluding the gathering.  A reception will immediately follow at the Trufant Community Center (the former Danish Brotherhood Hall) in downtown Trufant.

While Dana loved flowers, contributions for the wishes of the family (checks payable to Jessica Rausch-Howey) would be appreciated.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.  To send a message of sympathy to the family, sign Dana's online guest book, or to share a favorite memory, please visit:  www.ChristiansenCares.com

I’ve known DJ almost all my life, she was an amazing woman, she loved her FAMILY and friends like crazy. The thing I admired about DJ the most was her Fiestiness and how she wasn’t affraid to tell people how it is and how it’s GONNA be. I haven’t seen DJ in many years since I now LIVE in Texas, but I will ALWAYS cherish the Times I’ve had with her and I’ll ALWAYS hold the memories close to my heart for years to COME and ALWAYS. R.I.H. DJ FLY WITH THE ANGELS AND WATCH OVER US ALL AND KEEP US SAFE ALWAYS I LOVE YOU.

    JASON HORTON.

Sending love hugs and strength to all ! Casey, I LOVED seeing your Mom in Wal-Mart..when you saw her coming you knew it was going to be a “no bulls**t ,tell it like it is ” kinda conversation. she had the ability to make you smile and laugh even when you didnt want to. I will greatly miss “Mom” those conversations and those smiles.

God Bless Dana & Family! I was saddened deeply when I learned that Dana had passed at such an early age! I always thought that Dana would live longer than all of us with the strength, wit & spunk which she possessed. She was always fun to be around & had a great sense of humor which i’ll never forget! My deepest sympathy goes out to all of Dana’s family & relatives! Everyone cared & Loved Dana! She will be missed! God Bless Her & All of You! Glenn

Shawn, I’m VERY SORRY for the loss of your sister Dana! She was a a beautiful person & I always thought the “World” of her. She definitely was quick witted & told some great jokes! One thing i’ll never forget is that she loved her immediate family & she protected you & Herman (JR.) to NO END!. I still can’t believe she passed & went to Heaven at such a young age. God received a Great Angel on New Years Day! I’ll never forget any of your family nor Dana! God Bless All Of You! Good Luck in the FUTURE! Love, Glenn
