Dale Robert Price, age 70, of Greenville, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. The son of Robert Dale & Geraldine Marie (Jasieniecki) Price, he was born on January 9, 1947 in Chicago.
A decorated combat veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, Dale proudly served in both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marine Corps. After Vietnam, returned home to Chicago and worked in glazier in the commercial glass trade until he retired to Michigan where he met and married his wife, Shawn (Eldred) Lear.
Dale will be remembered as a fiercely loyal and protective husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Shawn Price of Greenville; his daughters, Brandy & Chad Kern of Caro, and Julie Freeman of Greenville; sons, Derek of Indiana, Mark & Lorrie Freeman of Gowen; seven grandchildren, Briana, Nicholas, Micheal, Addison, Kendra, Thomas and Megan; a sister, Julie & Micheal Blanford of Hammond, Indiana; two nephews, Robert Tevenal and Paul Price; and two nieces, Jennalyse and Michelle. Dale also will be missed by his special friends, Dan and Janet Rasmussen of Greenville.
The Price family extends a special thank you to all the wonderful staff of the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans, Dr. Webber, and Spectrum Health Hospice for their loving care.
Visitation with the family is from 12-1 p.m. on Saturday at the Chapel of the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans, 3000 Monroe Avenue N.E., Grand Rapids, where memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Military honors will be rendered by the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard and the Rev. Father Peter Vu will officiate.
