Crystal Frances Starlin, age 65, of Vestaburg, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015 at her home.  The daughter of Frank Rufus & Iva Geraldine (Maynard) Hewitt, she was born on February 18, 1950 in Fremont, where she graduated high school. 

On June 30, 1968, in Fremont, she married Gary Phillip Starlin and together they enjoyed nearly forty-seven years of marriage and had three daughters.  Crystal also worked outside the home, most recently as a cook at Great Lakes Adventist Academy in Cedar Lake.  She also enjoyed cooking and baking at home, singing, and was currently a member of Frost Seventh-Day Adventist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her parents;  and a daughter, Camille Rae Starlin.  Surviving are her husband, Gary Starlin of Vestaburg;  two daughters, Niki & Wesley Barron of Columbus, North Carolina, and D.J. & Louis Piña of Vestaburg;  five grandchildren;  two sisters, Marge & Dave Howes of Battle Creek, and Judy Hilliard of Hartford;  a brother,  Michael & Peggy McCrory of Coloma;  and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a Memorial Open House at the Cedar Lake Elementary School Gymnasium (7195 N. Academy Road, Cedar Lake, Michigan) on Sunday, June 21, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.  Instead of flowers, contributions for a scholarship to be awarded in Crystal's memory at Great Lakes Adventist Academy would be appreciated (checks payable to Great Lakes Adventist Academy).
