Cornelius A. McKeown Jr., age 86, of White Cloud, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017 at The Brook of Big Rapids Retirement Community.  The son of Cornelius & Mathilda (Schubert) McKeown, he was born on September 10, 1930 in Highland Park.

Cornelius retired from Michigan Bell Phone Company and enjoyed camping and snowmobiling.  Also, was a classic car and a gun enthusiast.  Cornelius was also a longtime member of the Antique Farm Power Club.       

Cornelius served our country and protected our freedoms as an Aviation Technician in the United States Navy.  He served from 1951 – 1955, having earned the Korean Service Medal, China Service Medal, and United Nations Medal.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cornelius was survived by his children, Patrick McKeown, Colleen Adsit, and Tim McKeown; siblings, Kevin, Dennis, and Kathy McKeown; grandchildren, Cassandra & John Leavelle, Lauren McKeown, and Samantha Adsit; and great-grandson, Liam Leavelle.

Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place.
