Cornelianne “Corky” DeVroome, 84, passed away Friday, June 28th, 2019 at Raybrook Manor under the care of Faith Hospice.
 
The daughter of Andrew & Florence (Vanderson) Batts, she was born March 3, 1935 in Grand Rapids.
 
Cornelianne was a lifetime member of Fifth Reformed Church, she sang in the choir and volunteered for many mission outreaches in the Grand Rapids area. Corky loved to travel, sew, and she had a passion of oil painting. She found joy in music, whether she was listening to classical music or playing piano. Cornelianne was an animal lover, she would sit and tell stories of all the pets she had throughout her life.
 
She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, David C. DeVroome. Cornelianne is survived by her daughters, Amber DeVroome, and Glynis DeVroome; granddaughter, Danae Karp; great-granddaughter, Holly Clark; and sister & brother-in-law, Anne DeVroome-Kamerling & Garrett Kamerling, along with many other friends and family.
 
Visitation with the family will take place Monday, July 8th, 2019 from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M., at Raybrook Manor Chapel, 2121 Raybrook St SE, Grand Rapids, 49546, with memorial services starting at 2:00 P.M. Interment will take place privately at Graceland Memorial Park.
 
Instead of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions in Cornelianne’s honor to The Humane Society.
