Clarence Wayne Nash, 73, of Gowen, passed away Sunday evening, May 22, 2005 at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. The son of Daniel Lewis Sr. & Bertha Elizabeth (Bean) Nash, he was born on June 6, 1931 in Kansas City, Missouri. Wayne was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Germany during the Korean Conflict era. He retired from LuVan in Belding and enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and fishing.

On May 26, 1956, in Syracuse, New York, he married the former Paula Comley. She preceded him in death on Aug. 5, 2002. He was also preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Madeline Roberts, June Craver, and Dona Dakin; and two brothers, Melvin Nash, and Roy Nash.

Surviving are four children, Paula Elaine & David Huyge of Gowen, Elizabeth Jean & Randy Line, Rose Marie & Larry Blanding of Greenville, and David Wayne & Tracey Nash, all of Gowen; a sister, Betty & Larry Bennett; three brothers, Rev. Jim & Pat Nash, Steven & Barbara Nash, and Daniel Jr. & Betty Nash; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren, with the seventh on the way; many, many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Wayne will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2005 from the Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville. Pastor Don Wolf, of the Cornerstone Worship Center in Vestaburg, will officiate. Military honors, rendered by the Ray I. Booth American Legion Post 101, will conclude the service with burial taking place privately at West Montcalm Cemetery. Visitation is tonight (Tuesday) from 6-8 p.m. Envelopes for memorial contributions are available at the funeral home.
