Charles Guerdon Monk, age 53, of Greenville, passed away on Good Friday, April 18, 2014 at his home under the loving care of his family and Spectrum Health Hospice. The son of Guerdon & Levina May (Cook) Monk, he was born on February 19, 1961 in Flint and was employed for 17 years with Northwest Kent Mechanical as a ductwork fabricator. In his spare time, Charlie enjoyed refinishing furniture.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife and best friend of 35 years, Brenda (Reynolds) Monk; their two daughters. Meka Monk of Greenville and Megan Monk of Stanton; a granddaughter, Alyvia Poynor of Greenville; five brothers, Robert & Bridgette Monk of Florida, Bill Monk of North Carolina, John & Brenda Monk of New York, Jim & Chris Monk of Montrose, Matt & Kelly Monk of Flint; a sister, Linda Miles of Florida; four sisters-in-law, Donna Carpenter of Roscommon, Terri Kerr of Trufant, Sam Rhyndress of Roseville, and Vickie Reynolds of Howard City; and many nieces and nephews.
Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place and private family services will be held.
