Cassandra Olene Cassie Riker, age 22, of Greenville, passed away early Thursday morning, August 14, 2014 at Spectrum Health-Blodgett Hospital in East Grand Rapids.
Born with cerebral palsy on February 4, 1992 in Grand Rapids, Cassie lived a full life in her short 22 years on this earth and delighted in watching Disney movies and cuddling with her kitten, Ellie.
She loved being with her family and friends, especially her nurses, teachers, and caregivers, but she adored her younger brother, Zachary. She will be deeply missed by all those who loved and cared for her.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Instead of flowers, contributions in Cassies memory are suggested to the donors favorite charity. I remember the day Cassie was born as I couldn’t believe I was an Aunt at the tender age of 22!
Her parents were so excited to welcome her into the world. They loved that little girl with all their heart and soul.
Even though I lost touch with the family for a while, I was delighted to catch up with Cassie via Chary’s Facebook page.
My heart smiled every time Chary shared a photo or just a quick video of Cassie enjoying her favorite movie.
Cassie made such an impact on so many lives in her short 22 years. She’ll be dearly missed by her family and all those who knew her.
Rest well in the arms of Jesus, Cassie. We love you!
